Outdoor Career Development Programs

Real skills taught by people who've spent decades in the field. We're not about certifications that look nice on a wall—we focus on what actually works when you're out there guiding groups or managing wilderness experiences.

Outdoor adventure training session with participants learning wilderness skills

Building Real Capabilities

Our programs started in 2018 after three of us got tired of watching people graduate from traditional tourism programs without knowing how to handle actual outdoor situations. So we built something different—training that prepares you for the messy, unpredictable reality of adventure work.

  • Field-based training in actual outdoor environments, not conference rooms
  • Small cohorts of 8-12 participants so you get individual attention
  • Mentorship from active guides and outdoor professionals who still work in the field
  • Portfolio development that shows potential employers what you can actually do
  • Ongoing support network after you complete the program

Three Learning Tracks

We offer different paths depending on where you're starting and where you want to go. Each one builds practical skills that outdoor businesses actually need.

Foundation Track

For people new to outdoor work. Covers wilderness first aid, group management basics, environmental awareness, and risk assessment fundamentals. You'll learn by doing, not just reading.

14 weeks

Advanced Guide Track

Takes your existing outdoor experience and builds professional guiding capabilities. Complex trip planning, advanced safety protocols, client management in challenging situations, and business operations.

18 weeks

Operations Track

For those interested in running outdoor programs or starting their own operation. Covers permitting, liability management, staff training, and sustainable business practices in adventure tourism.

16 weeks

Who Teaches These Programs

Everyone on our team still works actively in outdoor guiding or operations. We teach what we know from direct experience, and we're honest about what the work actually involves—the rewarding parts and the challenging ones.
